What is known about Intef VII
Perhaps a son of Sobekemsaf II. Known above all from his tomb in western Thebes and from a few monuments from Karnak and Coptos.

The period: Second Intermediate Period
Many kings in quick succession weaken the realm. Immigrants from Western Asia, the Hyksos (‘rulers of foreign lands’), take power in the north, while a separate royal house rules in Thebes.
