Amenhotep I is listed in the king list under ‘18th Dynasty’ and so belongs to this period: New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC). Reign: 1514–1493 (1525–1504) BC. The figures in brackets give the alternative dating by the Egyptologist Jürgen von Beckerath. The throne name is Djeser-ka-Re.
What is known about Amenhotep I
Son of Ahmose. He consolidated the state internally and extended the conquests in Nubia. He had numerous monuments erected that are modelled on those of the Middle Kingdom.

During this reign
- c. 1500 BCFrom Thutmose I onwards, the kings are buried in the Valley of the Kings near Thebes.
